Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to establish and manage configuration control for an aerospace programme developing uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). The successful candidate will ensure that approved design baselines, configuration changes, test articles, and certification documentation remain accurate, controlled, and fully traceable. The role is critical to maintaining certification integrity and supporting Design Organisation Approval (DOA) under the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) CAR 21 framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain approved design baselines and configuration control rules for UAS products, prototypes, and certification test articles.
- Maintain configuration registers, effectivity records, and accurate configuration status reports.
- Ensure test articles and specimens conform to their approved configurations and that all certification tests are traceable to the correct design baseline.
- Verify that compliance documents, test plans, test reports, analyses, and regulatory submissions reference the correct configuration and effectivity.
- Manage engineering changes and assess their potential impact on certification requirements and compliance evidence.
- Control and communicate changes to engineering drawings, specifications, and design management procedures.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records of type design data and certification documentation.
- Support certification inspections and tests by ensuring configuration identification and documentation packages are complete and current.
- Place holds on evidence releases when configuration status or effectivity is unclear, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure configuration records support applicable GCAA CAR 21 requirements and regulatory access to design information and relevant flight documentation.
- Coordinate configuration activities across engineering, airworthiness, compliance, flight test teams, and external suppliers.
Requirements
Critical Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or an equivalent aviation technical qualification
- Demonstrated experience in configuration management for complex aerospace or aviation products
- Strong understanding of design baselines, effectivity control, configuration identification, and status accounting
- Experience maintaining test-article configuration indices and ensuring certification evidence integrity
- Excellent documentation, record-keeping, and audit-readiness skills
Important Requirements
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens Polarion, Microsoft SharePoint, or GitLab
- Knowledge of engineering change control and controlled communication of design updates
- Understanding of the relationship between configuration management, airworthiness, and certification compliance evidence
- Confidence in challenging stakeholders and preventing the release of inadequately controlled documentation
- Strong coordination and communication skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Nice to Have Requirements
- Experience in certification, flight testing, or other regulated engineering environments
- Knowledge of GCAA CAR 21 or EASA Part 21 design organisation requirements

How your application is reviewed
You get an instant result: After you apply, Ansius compares your CV with the role requirements and shows your match score in seconds.
What happens next: This score is used for pre-screening. If your score meets the employer's review threshold, your application moves forward for recruiter review. If not, you still receive a clear result immediately.
Why this is useful: This is not simple keyword matching. Ansius uses AI to understand direct, implied, and indirect evidence in your CV, similar to how recruiters review applications during manual screening.
How your CV match score is calculated
Your score is based on evidence found in your CV against the job requirements. The analysis considers clear statements, related experience, and supporting context, not only exact keyword matches. Recruiters can include extra role-specific criteria in this job, so this result may differ from the public CV match tool.
Use this feedback for your next application
The match breakdown shows which requirements had strong evidence and which did not. You can use it to improve your CV for this role and for similar roles.
