Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our clients finance team. In this role, you will take full ownership of the general ledger, month-end closing processes, and statutory compliance. You will lead a small team of Accounts Payable clerks, ensuring operational excellence and robust financial controls. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the analytical skills necessary to drive continuous improvement in our financial procedures.
Requirements
Critical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and general ledger reconciliations.
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans (written and verbal).
Important Requirements
- Experience managing and developing direct reports.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience with tax and statutory compliance (specifically VAT and payroll tax filings).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have Requirements
- Prior experience with Odoo ERP.
- Experience acting as a primary point of contact for tax authorities (e.g., SARS).
- Demonstrated success in process improvement and internal control implementation.
